Etta James passed away yesterday just 5 days before her 74th birthday, the cause was leukemia, which she was diagnosed with in 2011. When I hear her name, I immediately think of the song At Last, which in my opinion is one of the most romantic and heart-felt songs ever written…and more so…preformed. From the first few notes of the song, until you hear Etta begin singing, I get goosebumps.
Anyway, I thought I’d share a few words about an amazing artist, who will surely be missed by many. Our lives are so short in the grand scheme of things, you should be sure to tell the people who matter most that they do, before the opportunity is gone.
I’ve been listening to the song on repeat for about 24 hours now, and I thought a big evening gown would best suit the mood of the song, something lovely and dramatic. So…when Ava sent me this gown yesterday morning, I was squealing. No, really, I was. I saw it on flickr a few days ago, and fell in love. It actually comes in quite a few color combinations, all just as lovely as this one. I’m also wearing some new jewelry from their shop, great bold pieces that photograph well…perfection! I don’t think the gown is available just yet, pretty sure Ava said next week, so don’t hate me if you go over there and it isn’t out!
