How do you feel about mesh? Have you used a viewer with it enabled, and how are things “fitting” your avatar?
I’ve had my ups and downs with it. I am a little skeptical how it will really impact fashion at this point with it being rigged to the skeleton. But I have LOVED the mesh boots from SLink, AND this gorgeous new dress I am wearing as well.
I think as far as pants go, while I do like not having knobby knees, size wise…eh. It gets frustrating when you are used to adjusting prims to fit yourself perfectly, and not really having that option with mesh. Plus, if you want to wear an untucked shirt with your mesh pants, you can’t really do that (layering wise). But it is really interesting seeing what creators are doing with it, and watching them experiment, I am endlessly in awe of the things people can do in Second Life. I wish I had 1/10th of the talent some creators do.
It will be an interesting journey wherever it goes!

The problem with mes clothing is that you can’t fit it to your avatar. Being a very curvy girl, mesh dresses and tops for me will be impossible unless I am willing to adjust my shape to some designer’s idea of a body ideal. But boots will be heaven, and prob be able wear some skirts (surely some designers will design for womanly hips!) And I can’t wait to see what is done with non-human avatars! That will be amazing! But as of now, I do not see mesh having much impact on fashion in SL.
Yes, I agree there are a lot of issues with the mesh because of it attaching to the skeleton, but I believe there have requests been put in to have mesh fit to the shape of an avatar, which would probably considerably help the fitting issues!
I don’t see the problem so much. You simply wear the invisi layer under the mesh and your hips become a little smaller. Nothing peeking through though. I only experimented very little with it but see no problem so far. Might be because so far, I don’t know enough about it.
I can’t speak for everyone, but it has been my experience that sometimes the mesh was created for a body type that is larger than mine. So when I wear the mesh, even with the alpha layer on, you can “see through” in bits that you shouldn’t. So that is an issue that could be fixed if the mesh was rigged to the shape instead of the skeleton. If I wanted to alter my body shape, and really make adjustments I am sure I could make it work, but that seems like a lot of work to wear a piece of clothing!
