I don’t do the Elf thing, nothing against it, just never been my thing. But when I saw Ivy’s flickr image of this new set the other day, I decided I had to have it! I thought I would put on the ears, giggle a little and move along. However, I just LOVE the whole look, the skin, antlers and elven ears are just perfect together, the tips of the ears even have a little blueish tint to add to the “frostbite” look.
Blue is the 2nd week’s color in Luna’s 52 Weeks of Color Challenge. If you check her blog you can see everyone else who is participating, from what I understand there are about 100 of us. It is nice to have such a great year long project we can all do as a community. I am hoping I will be able to keep up every week. <3
This weekend in Second Life is like the ummmm… well, actually I just don’t have anything to compare it to. Some of the most amazing events are taking place, not only do you have the Annual Hair Fair, but there is also another charity event going on called Project Donate, AND in addition to that Designers United started as well.
Designers United 4 is compiled of some 80 or so well known designers, all creating unique items that are for sale, and the layout is fantastic, I have to sincerely thank whoever planned it. Hair Fair, while LOVELY to look at, was very frustrating to navigate, I am certain I didn’t see every booth, because I just couldn’t FIND them.
Project Donate is the other event I mentioned which will hopefully turn into 4 events a year that will run 2 weeks each to benefit various charities. The very first event will is to benefit UNICEF Pakistan Flood Crisis and is open now through September 19th.
So now you know where you should be this weekend, and for that matter for the next 2 weeks, since all these events are ongoing. Moving right along, to the HAIRRRRR….
I am featuring another of my 2 faves from the Fair thus far. The first is from ATOMIC, and its a pretty casual side pony, that you will just need to own. The second is from Raspberry Aristocrat, and this specific style actually comes 3 ways, I am wearing the My Darla. I am so happy to see newness from RA! The hair does NOT come with the flowers, just to be forwarned, the flower head piece is part of the dress, which, guess what??? Is from the DU4 event! =P

This is probably my favorite pair of shoes from the fair, from Pixel Mode. I think Tya has done an incredible job with her prim feet. You cannot see it in this shot, but the wrinkles on the backs of the heels are so detailed, even on the toes themselves! I love the shape of the toes, and the overall shading on the feet. Not to mention the shoes themselves, which are just GORGEOUS, they fit ridiculously well, and look flawless with my AO. There are 2 different versions, one with black soles, and one with colored soles (Jori 1 & Jori 2), and the metal colors can be changed as well.

I was dying for So Many Styles to release this dress, like drooling over it from a far. I’ve seen a few people blog it, or post it to their flickr, and I just knew I had to have it. I have a dress similar to it RL, and it is one of my favorites, perfect for the summer, and extremely comfortable. So of course Fel has to have one! And it was not a disappointment, it comes in another style as well, without the floral design on top, and a slightly different strap. (which I purchased as well lol)
I think turquoise accessories are my favorite, pretty sure I own more of that color in my jewelry folder then any other. Maybe it is because that color looks nice with red hair? I will go with that excuse. So happy this dress gives me a reason to use lots of it <3

This weekend is a big holiday here in the states, I am sure the feeds will be flooded with red, white and blue. I thought I’d give my patriotic participation, in my own way. When I think of the 4th, it usually isn’t so much about our countries independence, which shockingly enough, many Americans don’t even realize WHAT the significance of the *holiday* is about. But I am not going to get into THAT discussion, my point is; My first thought of the holiday weekend is vacation!
So, it seemed like an excellent way to put to use this fantastic pose set that was sent to me by my good friend Annah Whitfield of StoRin. If I could, I’d be headed to the shore this weekend surely, and have my feet dipped in the ocean water.
This pose set is due to be released this weekend (hopefully), and you can buy the poses seperately, or in the complete set (which includes the floatie prop AND the swim cap). There are actually 10 poses all together, I am just sampling these three. The cap is menu driven and color change, AND you get a great selection of hair color options as well. Both the cap and floatie are sculpted, and Ann has really done a terrific job, thanks so much for sharing <3

I own every belt from COCO. I love their clothes, some shoes are made really well, but I OWN every damn belt. Best belts on the grid, imo. So, with that in mind, I am not only wearing a belt from there in this post, but I am also wearing part of one of their newest releases. This lace top, which is actually just part of the complete dress, is really beautifully sculpted. I love the single sleeve on it, and I really do like the summery casual lace textures.
Plus, it finally gives me a good reason to use this cute W&Y hair!
I do actually like to walk around shopping sims. I know everyone likes to go to the mainstores, because generally the selection is larger, but I like to walk around and see lots of little shops, and make fun finds. While out today doing just that I came upon the shop that makes this dress – Tee*fy. I LOVE this dress. the skirt is really poofy and sheer, and I love the sculpted shoulders on it.
While I was there, I came upon the shop that makes this bag as well – Beetle Bones. They also have lots of really cute stuff! My inventory left the sim a little bit heavier, and muuuuch happier!
Instead of blogging some newness, I’ve opted for a LOTD (Look of the Day). I haven’t done one of these in forever. I just happened to be wearing this all, and I thought it was cute, and would share. It is more or less something that you could pull out of my RL closet, and all about comfort and summer.
I guess I should point out that the earrings and necklace are actually new, and can be found at the Tableau Summer Festival Sale going on, which is donating proceeds to the Center for Biological Diversity to help animals effected by the BP Gulf oil spill and to help put a stop to offshore oil drilling, so well worth the purchase! There are all sorts of cute booths set up in the street, and the Tableau sim is always worth a visit regardless.
I saw someone wearing these Surf Co. shorts recently, and it reminded me that they were sitting somewhere in my inventory (which I have recently organized, so I could actually FIND them). I kept thinking I needed to find a way to wear them, and then Maitreya’s new releases last night gave me the perfect reason! This new summery top can either be dressed up or down, and I went with the later. The sculpted pieces are done exceptionally well, which is not really shocking, we all know Onyx is on her game there.
This is also the very first time I’ve worn BARE prim feeties! Funnnn! I thought this looked like an outfit I’d wear out on the beach, and so, barefoot seemed the way to go.
