Beating Heart

Tomorrow is the 8th.  Well…technically it is the 8th for me right now since it is just after midnight, but as far as your Second Life is concerned, it is tomorrow.  Glad we cleared that up.

Why am I mentioning this?  Collabor88!!!  *does my happy collabor88 dance*

I have managed for once to get in an early posting because I am so in freaking love with this dress.  I put it on, and knew I had to take a pic in my new garden.  But it isn’t just the dress…this hair.. are you kidding me?  amazing.  And even this lovely necklace that finishes off the whole look  –  all of it you can grab at Collabor88. (when it opens.. which is tomorrow, okay.)

Vintage Fair 2012

I usually do a few blogs covering events… but this time I decided to just do what I love; dressing up, taking pics, and editing them.  You don’t really want to hear much of what I have to say anyway, you want to see what is there, and then run to buy it, right?!

This is my FAVORITE of all the fairs, hands down.  I’m so sad that it might be the last. I love dressing up for different eras, searching my inventory for that something I purchased months ago that would tie it all together.  It is like crack. And getting an overwhelming amount of talented creators together and saying, go make vintage items… Yesss.

I will go over the standards – Vintage fair spans 3 sims, the build is made entirely of mesh by Cory Edo of Trompe Loeil (for that alone you should go visit), the build is gorgeous with amazing textures, it looks like a beautiful little city.  I cannot tell you about lag because I was there before it officially opened.  But I guess that sort of comes with the territory at this point, right?  If you can hold off, I’d wait 2-3 days, and then visit. Course I wouldn’t take that advice myself…

Dark Side

Yes, I’m in a bunny costume.  Happy Sunday to you!

There are far too many incredible things to share from this month’s Collabor88.  Honestly, I had trouble trying to narrow it down, without spamming you with TONS of pictures.

This bunny costume is my favorite from the event, and it is MESH!  Glorious.

Another gem is this great dress and hair, oh and notice the home?  Yep, part of Collabor88 too.  You have options with it as well, if you want the skybox, or maybe you just want the home for the ground, you can do either.  I am sharing the skybox FULLY furnished version.  It’s absolutely perfect.  There is a pool outside that you can’t see (I’m standing in front of it), and the skybox surround fits it perfectly as well.

Oh…MORE hair, and another must have dress from the event, which is mesh, did I mention the other is mesh as well?? …AND a gorgeous skin as well, which you can get it in a few different makeup options, I loved this with my hair.  Oh, Oh!  AND…. ANOTHER skybox…this is a NYC one… LOVE IT. It definitely fits the whole “Shindig” theme of this month’s Collabor88.  Yet again, creators have simply out done themselves!

Make sure you head over before you miss out on this month’s goodies.

I’m not opposed to Valentine’s Day.  I don’t cringe at the thought of it, I don’t think there is anything wrong with wanting to spend a day showing someone who you care for that they are special.

Despite all that I don’t think you need a designated day for it, if you love someone you should tell them as often as you feel it.  Who knows how long they will be in your life, and you should never have any regrets!

So Happy Valentines Day to all those who are sharing it with someone, and if you don’t have a special someone to share with, do something special for yourself, you’re worth it! <3

How Could Life Get Any Better

A couple of days ago Koinup got in touch with me about a partnership, and I was happy to hear from them because it gave me reason to explore the site a little more.  I’ve been a member for a while now, but I honestly have not been using it to the full potential.

Something they’ve really been trying to promote is their places section - www.koinup.com/places.  So I poked and prodded around the site a bit yesterday and today, came up with a little list of SLURLS (which was easy peasy because they are all right on Koinup), and logged in this afternoon ready to sim hop!

I can’t tell you how thrilled I am, honestly – I spend so much time at my home sim, and never really go anywhere, so this has been an eye opening experience.  I went to about a dozen sims, landmarking one after another.   The images on Koinup are all amazing, and the places are equally as enticing when you get there.

While I was out, I kept finding more and more places that I could see potentially using for blogging.  So, this is going to be my project for the new year – I am going to *try* to explore and take pics at one new place that I find on Koinup each week… and share it here on the blog.  I’m adding a Koinup category to the blog, so it should make it easier to find them going forward!

My first stop was Japan Chubu, which is one of 4 sims that are all linked together, you could honestly get lost there for hours.  Choosing just one place for a picture was the most difficult part.

And speaking of pictures, I had some of the very best company today!  Howard Rushwald was kind enough to spend numerous hours helping me scout for a spot, pic a pose, be patient while I made him rummage through all the hair in his inventory, etc etc.  He is relatively new to the blog scene, but he puts together some really great looks, and captures them wonderfully at his blog:  Howard Rushwald Style (go on add it to your reader, you’re welcome!)

You’ll be wanting style credits now huh?

Love Actually

Tomorrow is Christmas Eve, and Belleza will have a lovely holiday gift/preview of an upcoming skin release – Lily.   I told Tricky I needed something to blog, and just like that I’ve got something to share!  The skin is lovely as always, though of course I am partial! ;)

This will be my last blog before Christmas, because I’ve got quite a busy couple days ahead of me.   So I thought I would share with you my favorite holiday film – Love Actually.  It probably isn’t on the more typical Christmas movies list, but still my favorite all the same.  If you’ve never seen it you should, it tells the story of quite a few different characters, in all variations of love.   The cast is packed with amazing actors and actresses, the culmination of the film taking place Christmas Eve, and it is all set in London.  I won’t lie, it was a little more difficult for me to watch this year because you know love isn’t always a simple thing…

“Whenever I get gloomy with the state of the world, I think about the arrivals gate at Heathrow Airport. General opinion’s starting to make out that we live in a world of hatred and greed, but I don’t see that. It seems to me that love is everywhere. Often, it’s not particularly dignified or newsworthy, but it’s always there – fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, boyfriends, girlfriends, old friends. When the planes hit the Twin Towers, as far as I know, none of the phone calls from the people on board were messages of hate or revenge – they were all messages of love. If you look for it, I’ve got a sneaking suspicion… love actually is all around.”

- Prime Minsiter (Hugh Grant) opening narrative, Love Actually

You Sang To Me

Christmas is rapidly approaching, and right behind it is New Year’s Eve, which of course means there are lots of parties to attend!  So I thought I would give you a few ideas for all of the festivities.  Each of these looks is a bit unique, from formal to super sexy, and all of the dresses come from the same location.  Nothing like one stop shopping!

Things I love – The gold dress comes in 2 versions, in case you want a slightly different look, plus the texture is fantastic and totally glitzy!  The Blue comes with the jeweled hanging back, and really adds that something perfect to an otherwise more simple dress, I should also point out that while you can’t see it, this dress off shows off the cleavage in a BIG way!  =P  And finally the Champagne colored gown, its perfection, and you get it in this sculpted version as well as a flexi, both gorgeous.

I Need To Know

I Need To Know

I needed a break from all the sweaters, scarves, boots, snow and cold weather.  I’ve been humming this song for days now, so I finally got off my ass last night and did a little dancing!

Actually, I worked my ass off trying to put this look together, it is a bitch finding a salsa dress in SL!  You know when you’ve got this vision in your head of just how you want something to look, and you can’t find all the pieces…yeah that.  I was lucky to remember about this hair, and happened to have the shoes and earrings all tucked away in the closet.  I should have shown the back of the dress…or lack there of, but you all know I am a lazy one picture per post kinda girl!

On a side note: My real inspiration this time is music, I’ve been humming this Marc Anthony tune for days.  I always think about him this time of year because years back I saw him preform on NYE at Madison Square Garden.  They passed around champagne, and I got to listen to Marc countdown to when the ball dropped in the middle of the best city in the world to celebrate, that leaves an impression.

Look, I’ve returned to regular seasonal clothing!  I admit, I am still prancing around in all of my Vintage Fair goodies, but I thought I’d put on something more fall-ish before all of the leaves finish falling off the trees.   The weather in my part of the world has been completely unpredictable, 2 days ago is was nearly 80 degrees out, and today it is hardly in the 30′s.  No wonder I cannot get better!  In other news, I am getting my RL haircut today, which is cause for much celebration, because it has now been nearly 2 years since my last cut.  For those who don’t know, I am a RL redhead, curly unruly, thick and messy…. so I am in need of a cut badly!

Which is why I picked this crazy do…seems suitable since it pretty closely relates to my RL style atm =P

I hadn’t planned to blog this, I was just in the mood to take a pretty picture on some of my favorite clothes.  But a few people thought I should, so here you go!  I guess I should add something more…how about a quote?  Yeah, that’ll work…

A woman’s dress should be like a barbedwire fence: serving its purpose without obstructing the view.
