Paradise

Brisk autumn walk on the last day of October, the air is crisp, and scent of the leaves that have settled on the ground all around fills my heart with happy.

I’ve paired one of my absolute favorite turtlenecks with this newly released skirt, it has such a casual yet graceful feel.  Threw on these fun new boots to add a bit of color as I stroll and the tips of the boots peak out from under the skirt, and of course…new hair.  I was saying on plurk today that I don’t usually wear bangs like these, but this style really suits my face, my fave of the new releases.

Now I just need *the* guy to slip his arm around my waist, and pull me in close as we stroll the stone paths… that’d make this a perfect autumn day!

It was New Year’s Eve 2008, and I was at a party at a friend’s house in SL, at the time I had no idea who Tricky was really, so when he showed up I wasn’t particularly impressed or anything.  Everyone was drinking, having a good time, and I think there was a lot of nakedness, I was newer to the group, and shy… OF COURSE, so I struck up a chat with the quiet guy (Tricky).  He had to leave abruptly, but promised he would catch up with me, and the rest as they say, is history.

Here we are nearly 3 years later, and he is probably just about my best friend in Second Life, as well as my boss.  There is no one I trust more than him, and we generally have the ability to be brutally honest with each other.  When I need help, he is the first person I go to, and he ALWAYS makes time for me.  That is saying a lot for someone who is buried up to his eyeballs constantly creating new skins.  I look up to him quite a bit as well, he is a very good businessman, but still manages to be extremely fair in nearly every situation.  We talk all day, everyday usually, and I tease him relentlessly (I am pretty sure it is my job description now), but I’ve no doubt that he knows how insanely important his friendship is to me now. <3

So we spent the day shopping and hanging out, he let me dress him too!  He doesn’t need the help mind you, he is one of best dressed men on the grid (imo).  I was already dressed, because I had went on a shopping spree for all of Juju’s new releases.  SO MUCH GOOD.

For probably close to a month now Strawberry Singh and I have been trying to make plans to blog together.   We’d both forget, and then I’d see her name pop up in a plurk, or we would be in IM talking about something unrelated and I’d say “Oh, god, we are supposed to blog together”… Well, we’ve finally made it happen.

I’ve known Berry longer then just about anyone else on my friend’s list in world.  We’ve been friends for an SLife eternity now I guess.  I can’t really recall the first time we met, but I know generally when we’ve spent time together it has involved a lot of laughter.  Which is what the best friendships are made of.

In the time we’ve know each other she has become one of the best bloggers out there, imho.  She has honed her photography, and is extremely sought after for her keen eye and photoshop skills.  She has also produced numerous tutorials, all of which you can find on her blog, and if you haven’t already, you most definitely should.

When I am looking for honest advice, from someone I feel I can trust, who won’t sugar coat things or baby me, I often seek Berry out.  We don’t talk daily, actually sometimes weeks go by that we don’t say a word, but it is comforting to know she is always just an IM away.   And on top of that, any time we’ve worked together professionally, I’ve felt so at ease knowing I could rest assured she would go above and beyond to meet my expectations.

So it happens this week Harlow Heslop put for a blogger’s challenge - Inspire Challenge, which basically is created for bloggers to reach out to another blogger who inspires them.  There is no one who inspires me more than Berry, I look forward to every one of her blog posts, and I measure most of my own photography against hers. (which of course I cannot possibly compete with)… And I forgive her for her social network obsessions, which as much as I try to resist, I am always lured in.

Anyway, I know she will be embarrassed about the way I’ve gushed, she surprisingly enough doesn’t like the spotlight to be put on her, imagine that!  But I just wanted her to know how much I do value her friendship, how she truly is an inspiration to me, and probably dozens of other bloggers out there.

People don’t tell you the nice things nearly enough in life. <3

Shoe Fair 2011 – II

Shoe Fair 2011 II
I mentioned that Tya Fallingbridge is the builder behind this year’s Shoe Fair in my previous blog.  I think it is the best build to date, actually probably the best fair build all together.  She also happens to have an amazing pair of new shoes at the fair, as you can see above.

As an added bonus this specific color happens to be a shoe fair exclusive, and you get both the heel color options, so an amazing must buy, imho.

Tya’s shoe hud is another amazing feature, it is really simple to use, which is on top of the fact that the shoes are gorgeous.  They are some of her best sculpting work to date.  I love all the detail she puts into them, and I will probably have to fatpack these pretties some time very soon.  Could be a staple shoe for the summer?

Closer To The Edge

I’ve taken some time off from blogging.  Anything that feels like a task, which is supposed to be a hobby…needs a break.  Buttttt, I have a new laptop,  which allows me to capture shadows, so here I am!

The image above hasn’t had too much post processing done to it, obviously all the shadows are straight from SL, I fixed some edges, and played with the hue a bit, but that is about it.  I am so excited about having shadows, perhaps it will really get me back into blogging!

Oh, and amazing new hair, skins and clothes might just inspire me as well.  =P

Lovely new skin from Tuli called Sara, loving all the options – freckles, lashes, brows, clevage, and lipsticks… so you can customize until your little heart is content.  The cardigan is from Mon Tissu, and I love the sculpted trim on it, and the texture is really gorgeous, wish I owned this for my RL closet.

I’m blonde!!  I will be for the next few days actually, for fun.

I love this pose, it is really different…  and built into the lovely chair I am seated on.  Great newness from Diesel Works!  There are 23 poses in that chair… TWENTY THREE!  Tons of amazing options for your photography needs. I highly recommend it.  Also, a neat feature I was loving about it -  In some of the poses, your avie is facing a different way, or the chair is rotated, but it all rotates for you.  Does that make sense?  Basically, you don’t have to cam around, or try a new angle, it is all set!  Great stuff.

52 Weeks of Color Challegen: Taupe

I missed the last of the 52 weeks of color, which was indigo.  I know I can go back and do it, but I am lazy. SO… here is my best effort at making up for it.  This week’s color is Taupe, and I’ve thrown in some hints of blueish-turquoise, good enough, right?  =P

Admittedly I am lying, it is a complete coincidence that I accented my taupe with these blue shades.  I think I sort of love this weeks look, taupe is one of my favorite colors, mostly because you can really accessorize it with any color.  Now that I’ve gotten my post done so  early this week, maybe I can plan ahead for next?

Again

I feel like it has been too long since I’ve done a real blog.  I mean, I’ve been  posting the color challenge blogs weekly, but just a regular one?  Forever.

So I was determined today to make it happen, of course Second Life had other plans for me.  I spent the majority of my day naked and ruthed.  So sad.  I did manage to finally work out what the bug was, and get myself sorted, dressed and looking all things Felicity again.

I also thought I might point out this amazing new VIP group that Katey Coppola has set up for Glitterati.  The membership fee is minimal, and has already MORE then paid for itself in the few days since I’ve joined. This prop/pose I am featuring above was the first gift, and comes with a bunch of fun poses, plus additional hangers you can use on the clothing racks.  She has already sent out another gift, which I haven’t even had time to open yet!

I’ve thrown together some amazing mix and match pieces from Nyte’N'Day, the amazing new Maitreya boots, AND this stunning new do from elikatira, you should see the back, front doesn’t even do it justice.

And meanwhile…I’ve been listening to the same song on repeat ALL night because someone plurked it earlier and I cannot get it out of my head.  You know how that is?  You come across a song that you LOVED a million years ago, and you want to just drown yourself in it?  *goes off to listen again*

I’ve probably mentioned about a hundred or so times that I worship Maitreya’s shoes, right?  I mean, I do.  They are like crack for me.  I saw Onyx post the upcoming new release about a week or so ago, and I was just drooling all over my screen.

So when they came out, I ran right over and grabbed up a couple of pairs.  I adore them.  I love the amazing amount of options that come with them.  You get both the over-the-knee socks, and the slouch.  The over-the-knee version comes with the straps and without, and of course you get a whole rainbow of sock color options.  And lets not forget the simple fact that the shoe itself is so delicious.

So I opted not to wear very much for this post besides the shoes, can you blame me?

Give A Little More

I look forward to Thursdays and Fridays in SL, I adore when Truth releases all his new hair, and then when FLF rolls around.   This week there was tons to be had on both accounts.  Quite a bit of what is in this shot is from FLF, hopefully you can pick up the stuff at the full price still, even at the full price, they are gems.  Even my pose and all the shopping bags were part of the FLF this week!!

You might also notice my amazing furniture, that is new as well!  I love the set, and it is packed with lots of options.  If you purchase the full box you get all the accessories seen here (plus more), and the couch is color change, the pillows and blanket are as well, even the table and some other accessories have color changing options.  PLUS.. there is a menu driven set of cuddles in the couch, and that great chair behind me, the cushion changes with your sit!  So cute!

I happen to have also picked up a new skin, which I am totally in love with.  I’ve been waiting for a better eyebrow shade, so you might say I’ve been stalking the store.  I am sure you will get close ups in a future post.
